Padre Island memories prior to Harvey’s arrival

North Padre Island, Texas

Hurricane Harvey is approaching the Corpus Christi area this evening as I write this.  My wife and I visited the region two years ago on a quick weekend trip, as I had not been to this part of Texas since I was a child, and my wife was eager to breathe some sea air.

We visited nearby North Padre Island for a few hours and found it to be generally unspoiled. True to any Texas beach it was flat as a pancake.

I’m sure the spots seen in these photos will be inundated and reshaped by the storm surge, and of course the wind.

The beaches and the island will recover one way or the other.  So will the people of Texas.

Let’s hope and pray that all Texans and visitors impacted by the storm are safe and dry as the next several days unfold.

The third (iq.global/blog) shares knowledge and updates from iQ Global AS regarding cybersecurity, business intelligence, DNS abuse, DevOps and consulting for the domain name and hosting industries.
